The Aji Network

100 Days of “Aji”

Aji - an IR#4 Business Philosophy

A Summary of Students’ Reports

A new offer for Regional Meetings

Requests to share with us what actions you’ve been in and with whom

We’ve just passed the 100-day mark since we released Toby Hecht’s book, Aji, An IR#4 Business Philosophy.

There are now 947 books “out there”.
The significance of the 100-day mark comes from The BPC.

  • This is when students have completed 7-8 assignments in 3-4 months, or about 100 days, and begin to report that others are noticing out loud that their “value” is increasing.

  • This typically happens just before or after their first conference.  Shortly after that they start reporting that their incomes are going up!

At our last BPC Conference #2, for example, the class reported an average 94% increase in income!
Your reports are completely consistent with what we see in The BPC when students are just beginning to use Aji to double their productivity, value and incomes.

Even though you are not doing BPC Assignments and conferences with your employees, those of you who have begun working with your colleagues and employees  — First, Fast and Persistently —  are reporting that you are hearing and seeing the new business narratives and moods that we usually see just before Conference #1.

This is important for all of us.

Please notice our requests for more reports at the end of this page.  They will help all of us.

Here’s a summary of your reports

1.

It’s messy.  That’s always the first truth.  People are animals, not machines.  They get lost, uncomfortable, frustrated, confused and disoriented, and just don’t realize that’s completely normal and easy to handle and that they are, in fact, learning.

This is real life, people have families and jobs, nonstop breakdowns and interruptions, and are not skilled at learning.  IR#3’s business culture lacks the narratives needed to support going through a short period of mild disorientation to get started.

2.

People are really, genuinely excited about learning “Aji” so that they can increase their incomes!

They are genuinely enthusiastic about it, participating and cooperating.  They really like it!  (But not 100%.  More about this in a moment.)

Many of you are just handing the book out, getting to work and your employees are loving it.  Good for you!  (This is crazy to us.  We should be so lucky!)

Others of you are handing them out and making firm requests for meetings to discuss the first few chapters.  You, too, are reporting very positive assessments.

Having The Charts up, and using them at every opportunity in meetings or when giving talks to orient those around you to strategic and competitive thinking, which some of you report doing, clearly helps with the enthusiasm and learning.  We urge you to put them up and use them.

You can download the charts at https://www.theajinetwork.com/resources

Here’s an axiom of power I’ve been speaking in The Business Professional’s Course:
Either you and your employees, colleagues and employers are practicing “Aji” and IR#4 Strategic and Competitive Knowledge every day, all day, to double your productivity, value and incomes,

… or you are practicing IR#3’s task orientation and on using your common sense.
Which one do you want your networks and yourself to practice?

Our speculation from your reports is that your employees and colleagues like “the meaning” in “Why Aji?”  It’s the truth.  It’s what they  -- human beings --  really want to do if they care about their spouse and children.

We hear they also like “the instructions”, or The Strategy, because not knowing what to do, or how to think and act, produces deep resignation, which stifles enthusiasm and passion.  They all know they are not earning and saving enough money to avoid running out of it with their spouse.  But, they don’t know what to do about it and everything they try fails.  Everything.  When they begin to learn what to do because there’s an “action plan” to follow that makes a lot of intuitive sense…their commitment to their spouse, enthusiasm and passion for the future begins to explode.  No one likes to go to work and fail to make enough money every day, day after day.

Finally, and for the first time ever, they know what to do to increase their productivity, value and income  -- execute The Strategy --  so that they can take care of their family and live a good life.  They’ve never known how to do that before in IR#4.

Your best people clearly like to know how to “compete directly”, instead of indirectly by working hard, keeping very busy, being determined and using their common sense, which does not work in IR#4 with computers and the internet.  We can hear they like this very, very much.

They also like learning how to “make money directly”, rather than by proxy, by designing fresh, new offers, practices, narratives and strategies.  This is very exciting and has never, ever, been possible before for regular businesspeople.  Because the concept is so new it sounds to us as if they’re still putting this together.

There are, of course, people in bad moods about the learning.  Some are IR#3 bullshitters who are not serious about work or their family.  There aren’t too many reports of them, so far.  They just don’t want to do it or can’t.  This is expected.  But, those who are eager, enthusiastic and passionate are becoming intolerant of their declines and beginning to speak out.

3.

They are using “Strategic Coherence”, intuitively, to produce Operational Coherence, which they used to do with processes and procedures

This is very exciting and very powerful!  It is a completely new way for “regular businesspeople”, or business owners, executives and managers, to think, speak or act.

Hearing it is so different.  We predicted it based on our theory.  It had to happen…but we couldn’t be sure it would until we heard it.  But the moment some of you shared with us how your employees were organizing what they were doing around executing The Strategy, and how happy they were to be doing it, rather than working hard and keeping busy while getting the job done, we could hear “the pivot” towards IR#4 had begun.

To us it sounds like they are soaking up The Strategy.  It’s a completely new way to organize thought and action so it is always strategic and competitive, every day, all day, and much more powerful than working hard with task orientation and relying on common sense to increase productivity.

Clearly, they are learning the new meanings of the words and actions and like what they are learning very much.

Those of you using The Charts we’ve made available report they are very useful and we know they will help a great deal building and supporting “Strategic Coherence”.

4.

And, finally, there are those of you who have reasons to decline, or to avoid, moving first, fast and persistently to invite and help your networks learn how to use “Aji”.

We are not here to second guess you.  If, for instance, politics has you shut down or you have weak, unambitious, entitled, dull or disinterested employees, you may be right to hold off…for the moment.  (Certain professions and businesses attract them.)

We are confident that the more you learn about how those who have moved successfully are doing, the more confident you will become, too, about accepting declines to learn and moving on, quickly.  Learning how to exploit the strategic and competitive capabilities of computers to double productivity, value and incomes is just too competitive and important to ignore.

Now that you have a book, you can use it for recruiting.  Consider, for example, having prospective employees read through the first two chapters for one of their interviews to see what they think.

We, for example, have gotten the most positive reviews from administrative hires who we asked to read the book.  They, too, love it and want to work for a company that uses the book.

Also, consider putting The Strategy chart up near you so people can ask you about it.  You can tell them you are using it because it enables businesspeople to double their productivity, value and incomes.  If they ask questions, or make another request to learn about it, go from there.  Allow their normal, natural intentions to make enough money, or simply more, to work on them.

New Offer:  Regional Meetings in Phoenix and Boise, END OF AUGUST

We have been waiting impatiently to set up regional meetings for years to lower your costs and increase the competitive capabilities of your entire networks and businesses.  We just did not have the capability the book and a new website give us.
If we can get them started in Phoenix and Boise they will significantly increase the productivity and value of the businesses that participate.  They will increase your Networks of Capabilities, autonomies, accomplishments, identities and leadership roles in the area, as well as those who come and learn with you.

And, if they work as we envision, they can also be done online so groups of business owners, for example, can have their version anywhere in the world.
They will drop costs and increase returns very quickly, we are certain, because they enable everyone in your business, or in your organization, to learn “Aji” at the appropriate level of commitment and engagement for them.  As they pivot from task orientation to a strategic and competitive one, their productivity and value will increase naturally.
And, you can invite local business owners, executives and managers who are willing to consider working with “Aji” to attend one or two meetings without commitment.  If it works for them, and you, they can join.  We will propose conditions for membership.

At the meetings we will all be working with everyone to use “Aji”, and the book, to double our productivity, value and incomes.
Aji Regional Meetings are a place where people from different businesses who share similar financial, career and business intentions can meet and increase their IR#4 Strategic and Competitive Knowledge.  They will be very powerful now that there’s a book.  In them, for instance, everyone can speak about what they are learning and how they are using it to increase their productivity, value and incomes.  Those who love to compete and make money will love them!
There’s a whole new level of education and development waiting to open up with Aji Regional Meetings and Aji Business Groups.

When business owners, executives, managers, salespeople, etc., get together as we see happens in The BPC, soon to become The Aji Course, there’s an explosion of knowledge.  Local businesspeople can “join” easily.  We’ll explain.

It’s analogous to cross training in other domains such as sports, engineering or medicine, and quickly develops new, deeper and much more complex and sophisticated knowledge than anything hard work, common sense or determination can produce for a lone ranger.

It will also enable your employees and colleagues to begin building their own Networks of Capabilities, which will be very good for business owners.
Instead of the same old, same old, boring stuff, now your colleagues, employees, employers, customers and vendors can attend “Aji Regional Meetings” with you, meet others who share their financial, career and business intentions, and build their Networks of Capabilities as their IR#4 Strategic and Competitive Knowledge increases.

We will help, of course, to set them up and get them going.  Then you can have as many business owners, executives and managers, etc., attend and build Networks of Capabilities with you as necessary to fulfill your financial, career and business intentions.  We are building a completely new website that will help a lot, too.

We will be speaking with those of you in the Phoenix and Boise areas in the next few weeks about setting up meetings at the end of August.

Requests

We need help knowing what you are doing!  With almost 1,000 books out there we know almost nothing about what most of you are doing with them or what those who are reading them are saying or doing.

We knew you’d need at least the first 100 days to flail around, try your ideas, learn from them, redesign what you are doing so it works even better, etc.

Thank you to those who have told us!

If you could, please share with us:

  • What actions you have been in with Aji, An IR#4 Business Philosophy?

  • How many books have you purchased and to whom did you give them, and why?

  • What do they say about what they are reading?

  • Are they recommending the book to their colleagues, employees and friends?

Please, take no more than 15 minutes of your time writing us your report.  Make it “light”.  If we would like more details we’ll give you a call.

* Please take care of yourself when you respond.  Some of you become enthusiastic and take too much of your time responding.

We’d like your permission to contact some of the people you’ve given the book to so that we can hear their reports directly and, if appropriate, we will make them an offer to do The BPC/The Aji Course.

Please let us know if you would be open to us contacting these people to:

  • Learn their assessment of Aji, An IR#4 Business Philosophy

  • Answer any questions they have about Aji and how to use/act with it

  • If appropriate speak with them about Aji offers and The BPC
That's all for now.  Thank you, again, for your help.

We’ll keep you up to date as we have new reports and resources (charts, papers and videos) you can use with your Networks.
